Persons with high scores in this test are able to correctly assess typical and success-critical situations from the specific professional environment, to align their actions accordingly and to make the right decisions.

Dimensions

Z (Z-Score): Standard score in value range 70-130 (M=100, SD=10); PR (percentile rank): Share in reference group with a score that is at most as high.

Instructions

The test makes use of the forced-choice format. After an introductory instruction, various professional situations are specified from the context of the respective activity, based on which a decision must be made on the further course of action. To do this, 5 behavioural alternatives must be ranked.

Your specific version of JUDGE will be developed on the basis of a CIT (Critical Incident Technique) workshop with the participation of your experts.

Theoretical background

As a situational judgement test, JUDGE captures a person's ability to assess professional situations correctly and, based on this, to decide on how to proceed. Different situations from the specific professional context are presented with five alternative approaches each, which differ in their effectiveness. The task of the participants is to correctly assess the situations in order to then rank the alternative courses of action in the order of their potential success.

Situations and behavioural alternatives are individually designed as part of the development process in order to map your company and activity specifics as perfectly as possible. This makes it possible to make a solid forecast of individual behaviour in similar professional situations and at the same time give participants a good insight into future tasks.

Situational Judgment Tests (SJT) can map very specific requirements of an activity. The test method has therefore proven itself many times over in order to maximise the prognosis quality in selection situations. Studies show that SJT generates valuable information about the participants that cannot be generated with the sole combination of intelligence and personality testing.

JUDGE is particularly recommended when it comes to the selection of employees who frequently have to make independent decisions in their everyday professional life.

Psychometric properties
